Sat 3rd Jul: Composting Workshop (Local Food event)
2pm-4pm
Composting Workshop led by Martin Stott, Master Composter trained by Garden Organic. A practical workshop on how to make the best compost.
Wed 7th Jul: Kangaroo Playgroup
10am–1pm. A social group for mums, dads, other carers and children who are interested in or practising natural parenting. The playgroup aims to provide a forum to socialise, play and share skills in a friendly and informal setting – there is a suggested donation to the garden of £1 per family. Sat 10th Jul: Bee & Honey Day (Local Food event)
11am-5pm
Free workshops during the day on keeping and growing plants for bees.
11:30am-1:30pm: Terry Thomas, beekeeper for 44 years, member of the Oxfordshire Bee Keepers Association and their Education Officer, will give an introductory workshop on beekeeping. Terry will give an introductory talk on beekeeping, demonstrating the use of essential equipment and showing a small representative colony of live bees in an observation hive. You can ask Terry questions at any stage and find out how to become a beekeeper.
2pm-4pm: Esther Pozzani will give a workshop about keeping bees in urban areas and what kind of plants to grow for bees. Esther will also take you on a walk around the garden to identify plants that bees like and what could be added to help bees in early spring and June, when there is less pollen for bees around.
11am-5pm: For children - a free craft workshop with Gemma Burditt – learn how to make bee finger puppets with recycled materials and felt. Refreshments also available.
In the evening, will be a garden fundraising event featuring storytelling and music.
6:30pm-8pm: Eric Maddern will perform his adult show What the Bee Knows, a provocative look at the roots of our current global crisis, threaded around the story of the bee.
8:30pm: Telling the Bees, will perform songs inspired by folklore, Engish landscape and the politics of protest.

Mon 19th Jul: Introduction to Permacultre Design
19th & 20th July
Do you want to make our community more sustainable and resilient to changing climate? Do you want to develop your practical skills so you can grow your own food and begin to ecorenovate you home? Why not come to our new 2 day introductory permaculture design course and find out how? The course will include theory-based and practical sessions.
Date: Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 July, 10am-5pm each day

Fri 30th Jul: Natural Parenting Group
2pm–4pm. A natural parenting group which helps parents "tune in" to babies in order to lessen nappy use. Parents are encouraged to communicate with babies about their bodily functions, and learn how to recognise babies' signals. Suitable from birth.
