Bonfire and music with Nick Cope

A fun, gentle bonfire and music session at the garden particularly suitable for smaller children and their families.   No loud fireworks.  Children you are especially welcome to bring your grandparents or older carers and friends to this session who get a free ticket*

Music and Bonfire Event

Date: 5 Nov 2016

Time: 2 – 5pm

Entrance: Tickets available on the gate from 2pm – no advanced sale. The cost is £4 per person (same price for all) to see Nick Cope. Folk over 65 can enter for free as part of our initiative to encourage those of us who are older to discover the garden.   We can only have 50 people into the cabin to see Nick Cope and entrance will be on a first come and first served basis. If you are not able to see Nick Cope you will be able to enjoy the bonfire, fire twirling and enjoying being in the garden with friends old and new. There will be refreshments (tea stall, cake, samosas) and we will be making pizza in the wood burning oven.  If you are coming into the garden but not to see Nick Cope we are not selling tickets but asking for a donation to support our lovely community garden.

Directions: Are on our website: www.barrackslanegarden.org.uk

Parking: Please park bikes and cars (very limited on street parking) by the allotments and near to Oxford Spire Academy.   Details of buses are on the website.

Access: The garden, cabin and loo are all fully accessible.   The lower garden is not yet suitable for wheelchairs or mobility scoters due to the muddy path. We hope to get this sorted by the end of December.

Other things: Please dress for the weather including boots. It is dark in the garden! Bring torches. This is a community event and everyone is responsible for themselves and their children and vulnerable adults. Please be aware and take care particularly around the fire. You are welcome to bring marshmallows to toast… and sticks to put them on!   No fireworks or sparklers please.

Programme:

2pm: Gates open and bonfire which will burn all afternoon

3pm: Nick Cope plays in the cabin

5pm: Gate close

Refreshments available all afternoon. Cash only for tickets and refreshments.

Everyone is welcome to this event. It is particularly suitable for smaller children who must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
