What is Barracks Lane Garden?

Barracks Lane Community Garden has been transformed by local effort from a toxic waste-filled old garage site into a beautiful garden. The project is a registered charity managed by the local community. The garden opened in 2007 and is open to all. Download the leaflet: here

Features of the Garden

The Garden is a great space for picnics, parties and events. There is meeting and workshop space in the beautiful Yurt, the option of roasting and baking seasonal food in the Cob Oven and even a Compost Toilet. More info: here

Booking the Garden & Yurt

The garden including the yurt can be used by individuals, families, community groups. To book you need to complete an agreement form, take responsibility for health and safety and risk assessments and to abide by the rules and purposes of the garden.

Groups and individuals making private bookings are asked to make a generous donation to the garden to ensure long term sustainability of the project.
